This is our smallest product which is typically used for small archives, server rooms of small and midsize companies etc.
The parallel use of several generators allows scalability and redundancy.
The FP-123 contains no electronics and may be used in a simple mode as a “work-horse”. This means it operates constantly producing hypoxic air with 15% O2. Alternatively it may be operated with an optional O2-sensor (see picture) and a switching unit.
The latter is joint up in the circuit and controls the effective O2-level in the prevented room by switching the generator on and off depending on the signal given by the O2-sensor unit.
Important to remember: Any air-conditioning system being used in the area protected with a FirePASS® System must be a split system type (recirculation).
The FirePASS® FP-123 self-contained unit employs one oil-free compressor and is capable of serving room volumes up to 50 m3 subject to leakage rate. For the total volume of 50 m3 it would take initially about 13 hours to bring the whole area to a permanent “safe” condition of 16% of oxygen, and around 24 hours to bring it to 15.5% (based on 20% leakage).
The FP-123 without control unit will work constantly. The achieved level of oxygen in the prevented room will then depend on the leakage of the room and will stay at slightly above 15%.
If the FP-123 is equipped with the optional O2-sensor and the switching unit it will switch off automatically when the desired O2-percentage is achieved (e.g. 15.4%) and will start again when the oxygen level exceeds the desired maximum level (e.g. 15.8%) thus maintaining the environmental oxygen content at around 15.5 % constantly and minimizing energy consumption at the same time.

The ambient room air temperature should not exceed 30 degree Celsius.
The unit should be protected from excessive moisture and dust and must be placed in a way that it receives adequate ventilation to avoid overheating of the compressor.
Optional oxygen monitoring and switching unit
FirePASS can provide a high quality dedicated stand-alone continuous oxygen monitoring system for the detection of oxygen content specifically in hypoxic environments. The O2 system consists of a digital display sensor head and proprietary zirconium oxide sensor cell for the detection of O2 with a range of 0-25%. It also has dual level visual alarm indicators, user selectable dual-level concentration alarms and relay contacts, and system fault relay.
The O2 monitor relays are used to activate local horns and strobes and, with built-in hysteresis, used for controlling the switching unit. Sensor head electronics is housed in a Nema 4X wall mounted housing that is to be installed in the protected room. The monitor is 24VDC powered.
The O2 sensor cell has a life of 5-8 years minimum.
The switching unit that is controlled by the relay-switched alarm signal from the oxygen monitor for “high” and “low” oxygen levels. It has 4 switched power connectors to connect up to 4 FP-123 PSA Generators.
